Pool Builders in Halstead, KS

Halstead already has a municipal swimming pool, so why look for pool builders in Halstead at all? For most households it comes down to time and convenience. The city pool runs on its own schedule. A backyard pool is open at 6 a.m. before work, at 9 p.m. after the kids are in pajamas, and every weekend in between. With 36.8% of Halstead households raising children under 18 at the 2020 census, that kind of access gets used.

A growing town with little room to spare

Halstead grew 4.5% between 2010 and 2020, reaching 2,179 residents, while the homeowner vacancy rate stood at just 1.9%. In a town of about 1.35 square miles, most new pools go into existing yards rather than fresh subdivisions. That means working around mature trees, sheds, fences, alleys and utility lines that have been in place for decades. We plan equipment access carefully, sometimes through a side yard or alley, and protect the lawn and driveway along the way.

Know your lot lines before you choose a spot

Harvey County offers a GIS parcel lookup that shows property boundaries, and the county property search lists parcel details. We use these alongside a site visit to check where your lot actually ends, where easements may run and how much room is left for the pool, deck and required clearances. Finding a conflict on paper is far cheaper than finding it with an excavator.

Permits go through City Hall

The City of Halstead provides a building permit form and a contractor's license process through City Hall at 303 Main Street. Before construction, we confirm with the city which permits your pool, fence and electrical work need, and we make sure the contractors on your job meet the city's licensing requirements. If you have questions on your own, City Hall can be reached at 316-835-2286.

Options for Halstead backyards

• Fiberglass pools: a one-piece shell, fast install and a smooth surface that is easy on feet and easy to clean
• Vinyl liner pools: a flexible way to get a larger pool on a moderate budget
• Custom concrete pools: for yards that need a non-standard shape or features like a built-in bench or spa spillover
• Spas and hot tubs: a smaller project with year-round use
• Pool decks and patios: concrete or pavers with slip-resistant finishes and drainage that keeps water off the pool

Bringing an older pool back

Some Halstead homes already have a backyard pool that has not been opened in a while. Before you fill it in, let us look. Cracked plaster, a faded liner, failing coping or a tired pump do not always mean the pool is done. Resurfacing, a new liner, updated equipment and a new deck can make an old pool feel new for a fraction of a full rebuild. If the shell itself has failed, we will say so.

Built for Kansas seasons

Halstead's humid subtropical climate means hot, muggy summers and winters that still freeze. Our builds include plumbing laid out for proper winterization and equipment that can be shut down and restarted cleanly each year. Covers keep debris out over the winter and hold heat in during cooler spring evenings.
